Privacy Policy for Exact Upload Dates for YouTube

Exact Upload Dates for YouTube is a browser extension that replaces relative video ages on YouTube with exact upload dates.

Information processed

The extension processes a YouTube Data API v3 key entered by the user, YouTube video IDs visible in supported video cards, and extension preferences, operational status, and cached upload dates.

The extension does not collect names, email addresses, payment information, messages, comments, search history, or complete browsing history.

How information is used

The API key and visible video IDs are used only to request video publication dates from the official YouTube Data API. Preferences and cached dates are used only to provide and configure the extension's exact-date feature.

Storage

The API key, preferences, status, and cached dates are stored in Chrome's local extension storage on the user's device. The API key is not placed in Chrome sync storage.

The data remains stored until the user removes it through the extension settings, clears extension storage, or uninstalls the extension.

Data sharing and transmission

The extension sends the API key and requested video IDs directly to Google's YouTube Data API over HTTPS. Google's handling of those requests is governed by Google's applicable privacy terms and API policies.

The extension does not send user data to the extension developer or to a developer-operated server. It contains no analytics, advertising, tracking SDK, affiliate system, or data broker integration. User data is not sold.

Remote code

The extension does not download or execute remote JavaScript, WebAssembly, or other executable code. Network requests retrieve JSON metadata only.

Limited Use

The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Security

The extension requests only the permissions required for its feature. API requests use HTTPS. Users should restrict their API key to YouTube Data API v3 and should remove or rotate the key if they believe it has been exposed.

Changes to this policy

Material changes to data practices will be disclosed through an updated privacy policy and, when required, an in-product notice before the new practices take effect.
